Eligibility For Free Tax Help |

Sponsored by the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service and the Tax Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. If you worked full or part time in 2007, you may be entitled to money back -- EVEN if you don't owe any taxes. You may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC). If so, you'll owe less in taxes and you may even get money back. Even if you don't owe taxes you can get the EIC. However, you MUST file a tax return. If you call your taxes could be prepared by experienced lawyers and accountants who will also tell you if you qualify for the EIC. MVLS 410-547-6537

MVLS has two different tax programs that you MAY
qualify for to receive free assistance with your taxes. One program
assists those who need help with tax preparation for the current year. The other program can help
you if you have need to file taxes
for a previous year or have difficulties with the IRS.

Back Taxes and Tax Problems If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might have an IRS tax problem and MVLS' Low Income Taxpayer Clinic might be able to help. The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic provides free legal services to low income individuals who need to file back tax returns or who have IRS tax problems. Individuals can call Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3p.m. and speak with one our intake paralegals who will determine if you are eligible for our services.
